(ANSA) - ROME, JANUARY 14 - China closes 2021 with a boom in trade surplus which has risen to 676 billion dollars thanks to exports up by 29.9% with solid global demand linked to the reopening of many countries after exceeding the hardest part of the Covid19 pandemic crisis.
Imports, based on data released by Customs, grew by 30.1%.
In December alone, exports rose by 20.9% (slightly more than forecasts), while imports by 19.5% (below expectations), generating a surplus of 94.46 billion, which the largest recorded on monthly basis.
