Melania Trump has the art and the way of being where you least expect it, she has just demonstrated it again.
The former First Lady has launched a website in her name (MelaniaTrump.com), and has just auctioned off three items in a collection called “Head of State”.
First, a wide-brimmed white crepe hat designed by Hervé Pierre, her personal designer, which she wore during the diplomatic visit of Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte to the White House in 2018. Launch price: $250,000.
In addition, a watercolor by the French artist Marc-Antoine Coulon, who drew the profile of Melania Trump wearing the famous hat, dated 2021, is on sale. The drawing “interprets the iconic look of Mrs. Trump during this important visit of State”, reports the site, and is signed by Melania Trump and the illustrator. Finally, this same work was transformed into NFT, these virtual images identified and protected by the blockchain. Accompanied by an animation, it is the subject of an auction until next January 25th. This is apparently the second NFT put up for sale by Donald Trump's wife, as the website also references another watercolor of Melania Trump's eyes, whose NFT was sold in late December for an unknown price. .

Children's well-being
Whether it's the hat or works of art representing a former first lady, such an auction is unheard of. “Former First Ladies never sought to market their possessions during and after serving as First Lady or during their lifetimes, considering it to belong to the American people. She's the first to do it," according to Kate Andersen Brower, CNN author and author of
First Women: The Grace and Power of America's Modern First Ladies.
.
On another page, the website mentions the “Be Best” initiative for the physical, social and emotional well-being of children, launched when Melania Trump was in the White House.
It states that “a portion of the proceeds from NFT sales will be donated to support children in the foster community”.
