While 600,000 people who do not have a complete vaccination schedule, according to the Ministry of Health, are likely to see the validity of their health pass come to an end this Saturday, January 15, the Omicron "tsunami" continues to overwhelm France and putting hospital staff under pressure.
Public Health France lists this Saturday 24,544 people hospitalized for a diagnosis of Covid-19, including 1,690 new hospitalizations in 24 hours.
On Friday, hospitals had 24,511 patients and 21,721 the previous week.
Among these hospitalized patients, 218 people have been admitted to critical care in the past 24 hours, the units reserved for the most severe cases, against 310 the day before.
A total of 3,852 patients occupy a bed in these services this Friday.
They were 3,895 the day before and 3,821 a week earlier.
If the hospital pressure is still strong, it is the 4th consecutive day of a drop in the number of daily admissions to critical care, and the 3rd consecutive day of a drop in the number of patients treated in critical care.

In addition, 146 new people have died of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours in hospital, bringing the number of victims since the start of the epidemic to 126,874 people in France.
