(ANSA) - NUR-SULTAN, 15 JAN - The wave of protests that hit Kazakhstan after the high energy price caused 225 deaths.
The authorities announced this today, accounting for an upward update of the balance sheet, compared to the approximately 160 reported in recent days.
"During the state of emergency, the bodies of 225 people were delivered to the morgues, of which 19 were law enforcement officers and military personnel," SerikShalabaev, a representative of the state prosecutor, said in a briefing.
