Sometimes he called himself Nicholas Alahverdian, sometimes Nicholas Edward Rossi, sometimes Nick Alan or Arthur Brown.
He was eventually arrested as Arthur Knight: 34-year-old Nicholas Rossi was treated under this alias at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, Scotland, when police officers arrested him shortly before Christmas.
Rossi is accused of raping a woman in the US state of Utah in 2008, reports the BBC, among others.
While reviewing previously unsolved sex crimes, investigators also found a connection to a case of sexual assault in Ohio.
And the FBI was also looking for Rossi: He is said to have issued several credit cards in the name of his foster father and thus incurred debts of over 200,000 US dollars.

The alleged rapist had recently been involved in local politics as Nicholas Alahverdian in Rode Island and had advocated children's rights in particular.
After authorities began investigating him, he told US media in late 2019 that he was seriously ill with cancer, had late-stage non-Hodgkin lymphoma and had just a few weeks to live.
Invented sea burial
Alahverdian is said to have died in February 2020, and the web portal »Everloved« still remembers him to this day: »On his deathbed were his wife, their two children and the extended family.
His last words were: 'Do not be afraid and run towards the bliss of the sun'.« The ashes of the deceased were later said to have been scattered in the sea.
According to the Scottish police, Rossi has now been arrested on the basis of an international arrest warrant.
When officers tracked him down, he was on a ventilator at Glasgow University Hospital for Covid.
Rossi must now face an extradition process in the United States, according to the BBC report, the first hearings have already taken place.
