2022-01-15T11:23:32.932Z

White on Black

Black and white are the dominant colors at the traditional Carnaval de Negros y Blancos in southwestern Colombia.

Carnival begins every year on December 28th when the people of San Juan de Pasto get in the mood by throwing water.

The most important days, however, are the two at the end, January 5th and 6th, when the revelers present themselves first in black, then in white, including foam and powder - as symbols of equality and integration.

Also included are those who dance in the water.

sunstreaks
