Following the news of the tariff for the singer's 45-year-old performance on Independence Day, residents sent letters of complaint to the mayor, who announced that he had canceled the show


Omar Adam's appearance in Petah Tikva was canceled due to the anger of the city's residents, the mayor informed the complainants yesterday (Saturday).

 Residents' anger came following the publication in "Israel Today" last Friday, according to which the singer was expected to earn almost NIS 300,000 for just one performance.

After the announcement, hundreds of angry and resentful messages were sent to the mayor and written on the net about the decision to pay so much of the taxpayers' money and all this in one go.

Yesterday, as stated, the mayor of Petah Tikva informed the complainants that the planned show was canceled.

As stated, as published in "Israel Today", the Petah Tikva municipality was supposed to pay the singer about NIS 300,000 for a 45-minute performance on Independence Day.

The municipality agreed with Adam on a major show of about an hour, for which they were supposed to pay 250,000 shekels, not including VAT. A total would pay: 292,000 shekels.

Independence Day, as is well known, is considered a day when singers are in high demand and earn much more than the rest of the year.

Omar Adam is considered one of the greatest and most lucrative singers in Israel.
