Another American in Paris.
Or rather an American comedian in Paris.
After Louis CK, Blanche Gardin's companion, or Aziz Ansari, star of the "Master of None" series, it's Dave Chappelle's turn to make a stopover in the capital, Tuesday and Wednesday at the Apollo Theater (Paris , 11th), then Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Trianon (Paris, 18th).
A star of the genre across the Atlantic, but also a highly contested artist in recent months.

We have indeed talked a lot about this stand-up specialist for the remarks addressing the gender issue in his show “The Closer”, available on Netflix. “Gender is a fact. Every human being in this room, every human being on Earth had to pass between a woman's legs to be on Earth. It's a fact, he asks, before adding. I ask you, why is it easier for Bruce Jenner to change gender than for Cassius Clay to change his name? “Punchlines deemed transphobic by some, while the artist also defended JK Rowling, the creator of the “Harry Potter” saga, accused last year of having made insulting remarks towards transgender people on Twitter.
Dave Chappelle held firm, as did Netflix, which assumed and defended the broadcast of his show. At 48, Chappelle remains one of the figures of American humor, rewarded with numerous victories over the years, including a Grammy Award and five Emmy Awards. He created a comedy television series (“Chappelle’s Show”), co-hosted a podcast (The Midnight Miracle), produced specials for Netflix (his “Comedy Specials”)… He was also the 2019 winner of the Mark Twain Prize for greatest American comedians. Between controversy and success, it remains to be seen whether Dave Chappelle will find his audience on the Parisian stages? Answer this week.
