The probability of winning a large sum in the lottery is negligible, but numerous tipsters were probably sitting in front of the television again on Saturday: Because this week it was about a record jackpot of 45 million euros.
But then her patience was put to the test: After the balls had fallen into the lottery wheel, it didn't turn.
"It's a small technical problem," said moderator Miriam Hannah.
Since restarting the machine didn't work either, as the draw manager who had been brought in explained, a replacement device was used, which is already in the studio.
"That can always happen," said presenter Hannah.
"They're just machines, you're not involved." The balls from a spare set were then used in front of the camera.
The reason for the breakdown cannot be explained, according to the draw manager.
But at least the replacement device worked: the lottery wheel turned – and the balls fell properly.
