Within a few days, two cars sank in the water in Emden.
A 94-year-old was critically injured in the port city at the mouth of the Ems in the North Sea.
A 31-year-old was able to free himself from his vehicle in another accident.
The 31-year-old was taken to hospital with hypothermia after his vehicle fell into a sewer on Sunday morning.
According to the fire brigade, he left the road for an unknown reason and drove into the Fehntjer Deep, a canal about 18 meters wide and about two meters deep.
The fire brigade used two divers for the rescue, who put slings around the completely sunken car.
The vehicle was lifted with a crane.
Rescue divers rescued 94-year-old man
A 94-year-old had already crashed his car into the Emden harbor basin on Friday and sustained life-threatening injuries.
According to the police, the senior had driven over the dyke fortification for a previously unknown reason and slipped over the embankment into the outer harbor of the Borkum pier.
The vehicle was then almost completely submerged in the water.
Rescue divers from the fire department freed the man and he was taken to the hospital.
