Who wants the skin of the FIAC and Paris Photo? Since December 8, the date of the publication of a call for competition by the public institution RMN-Grand Palais, these two Parisian institutions have been on a tightrope and feel the wind of the cannonball. Will they still be there next fall, at the ephemeral Grand Palais, on the Champ-de-Mars? Will they still be there in 2024, when the historic Grand Palais will have completed its metamorphosis and, after very expensive work (466 million euros), will finally be ready to once again host major cultural events? Nothing is less certain, even very compromised. The Fiac, created in 1974 and back at the Grand Palais since 2006, Paris Photo, created in 1997 and installed under the nave since 2011, are indeed threatened with expropriation of this heritage setting which makes their prestige.It is all the more coveted as it is boosted by the 2024 Olympics. The Palace revolution promises to be fierce.
