(ANSA-AFP) - ROME, JANUARY 16 - The tsunami threat following the powerful eruption of the Hunga Tonga-HungaHaʻapai underwater volcano in a large area of the Pacific is "overcome".
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (Ptwc) said today.
"On the basis of all the available data, the tsunami threat linked to the volcanic eruption is now over," the PTWC said, calling on coastal authorities to "determine when it will be safe to resume normal activities."
