Accidents happen again and again on the Zugspitze

A skier died on a descent on the Zugspitze.
Another skier discovered the woman lying behind a crest on Saturday in the area of the Wetterwandeck summit with serious injuries.
According to the police on Sunday, it was initially unclear why the 30-year-old from North Rhine-Westphalia fell.
The woman, who wore a helmet on the descent near Germany's highest mountain, was taken to a hospital in a rescue helicopter, where she died a little later.
Attempts at resuscitation came too late
In the Slovakian Tatras, a 29-year-old mountain tourist fell around 400 meters and died.
As the mountain rescue service HZS announced on its website, the woman from Ukraine slipped and fell while hiking through the mountain valley Mala studena dolina.
Other hikers who happened to be passing tried to rescue the unconscious woman immediately by resuscitation measures, but were unsuccessful.
The crew of a rescue helicopter that arrived afterwards could only confirm the death of the woman.
