Everton wants José Mourinho as the successor of the just exonerated Rafa Benitez. The 'Guardian' writes it, recalling that the owner of the club, the Anglo-Iranian businessman Farhad Moshiri has always been an admirer of 'Mou' and would be willing to focus immediately on the Portuguese, snatching him from Rome during the current season (with the availability to pay a penalty). A task that does not appear easy, given that Mourinho has signed a three-year contract with Roma, but that Moshiri would be willing to do, Friedkin permitting, promising the new coach excellent signings, such as PSG goalkeeper Keylor Navas, the current Inter player Ivan Perisic, Sevilla defender Diego Carlos and United Dutchman Donny Van de Beek (whom 'Mou' really likes but Roma couldn't take because of the price).
The fans, on the other hand, writes the 'Guardian', would prefer their former favorite Wayne Rooney to return to Goodison Park, albeit in other guises, who appeared at a very young age in professional football with the Everton shirt and now coach is working well in the Championship with Derby County.
Also in this case, Everton should therefore take the coach away from another team, during the current season.
It is then recalled that for the Toffees bench there was a third candidacy, that of the return of Roberto Martinez, who however made it known that he wanted to remain at the helm of Belgium, given that, this year, he does not intend to miss the appointment with the World Cup in Qatar.
