Salvatore Caruso, fished out of the draw following the decision to exclude Djokovic, clearly gave in to the Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic, n.77 in the ranking, who won 6-4, 6-2, 6-1.
The 29-year-old from Avola, No. 146 in the ranking, was in sixth appearance, fifth in the main draw where he only won one match against Swiss Laaksonen in 2021 before a controversial defeat in the second round against Fognini.
