After the rainy weekend, the cold penetrated Israel, when the Hermon site reported a temperature of minus 6 degrees Celsius on the lower level this morning (Monday). The site's marketing director, Miki Inbar, told Walla! Tourism The bottom is 10 cm, while the top level is 25 cm.



"The extreme cold is expected to stay here today and tomorrow, and from Tuesday night into Wednesday there will probably be another short snow system," Inbar explained.

Puddles turned to ice

Meanwhile, ice has accumulated in quite a few high places and mountains in Israel.

For example, on Mount Gerizim in Samaria, whose summit rises to a height of 881 meters above sea level, this morning Rami Mustafa from the Nature and Parks Authority documented ice that accumulated in Mount Gerizim National Park and puddles of water that froze overnight.

Nature in the Galilee was covered in white

At the foot of Mount Meron, in Kibbutz Tzivon in the Upper Galilee, beautiful views of green nature and white ice were recorded in the morning.

Temperatures of minus 1.3 degrees were recorded this morning at 05:00.



"We woke up to a clear, dry, frozen morning, below zero," Hannah Tabak, who lives with her husband and two daughters on the kibbutz, told Walla!

Tourism.

"It's really freezing outside and all the plants and water sources have frozen, and so have the cars and windows."
