A new update for the Corona-Warn-App now also shows the status of the app user and which rules are associated with the respective proof.

Berlin - 2G, 2G-Plus, 3G, 3G-Plus - in the Corona jungle it can quickly happen that you lose track.

It's a good thing that the Corona-Warn-App has now received a new update that makes it easier for users to prove their status.

This is useful if you want to know which events you have access to with your status.

Because the app shows it at a glance.

Corona-Warn-App now has an update: Important innovation now makes many things easier

A new update is now available for the Corona-Warn-App.

With version 2.16 of the app, users can view their current status verification in the "Certificates" area.

This is explained on the Corona-Warn-App blog.

Anyone who has stored a valid vaccination or recovery certificate and a test certificate in the app will see these proofs as a combined display.

Corona warning app: The status options at a glance

The four different status options that the app distinguishes between are explained on the blog of the Corona-Warn-App:

  • 2G:

If the 2G rule applies at an event, only people who are fully vaccinated or have recovered can enter.

Access is therefore only granted to people with a vaccination or convalescence certificate.

A test certificate is not necessary.

  • 2G-Plus:

Only people who are fully vaccinated or have recovered and who also have a negative test result have access.

In addition to a vaccination or recovery certificate, a negative rapid or PCR test that is not older than 24 or 48 hours must be presented.

  • 3G:

With this rule, vaccinated or recovered people have access.

In addition, those who present a negative rapid or PCR test result that is not older than 24 or 48 hours.

  • 3G-Plus:

If 3G-Plus applies, not only vaccinated and recovered people but also people with a negative PCR test (not older than 48 hours) have access.

People with a booster vaccination who are exempt from the test requirement at 2G Plus events are not yet included in the app.

According to the app's blog, this function is already in the works.

Increased corona risk: Clear notice in the app

There is another innovation for iOS users: You will now receive a notification about the change in your risk status while the app is open and the risk assessment is running.

According to the app blog, this is to prevent a user from overlooking the warning.

This can happen if, for example, he is currently under the "Certificates" tab and closes the app again without looking at his status display again.

Such a notice is visible with a red dot in the "Status" tab.

Android users will have to wait until version 2.17 for this function.

Another innovation: QR codes are now recognized faster

In order to be able to recognize QR codes even in poor lighting conditions or low print quality, the technical library was also replaced with the update.

QR codes are now recognized faster.

Android users will automatically receive the new version of the app within the next 48 hours.

Anyone using an iPhone can install the new version from the App Store.
