(ANSA) - ACIREALE, 17 JAN - A 60-year-old was arrested by the Carabinieri of the Acireale company for the murder and concealment of the body of Agata Scuto, the 22-year-old who disappeared from home since June 2012 and whose body has never been found.
A precautionary custody order was carried out against the man in prison issued by the investigating judge of Catania upon request of the Etnean District Prosecutor.
According to the prosecution's thesis, the investigations of the carabinieri on the 'cold case', launched after the report of the disappearance of the victim's relatives, defined as young and fragile, "allowed the collection of serious indications of guilt towards the man due to both the particular relationship that he had established in the last period with the girl - who never left the house alone, nor had relations with other people - and the falsehoods of the information provided to the investigators by the same about his movements on the day of Agata's disappearance ".
In particular, the suspect "would have tried to pollute the evidence even by obtaining confirmation of his false alibi from acquaintances".
