Elon Musk: Three rules that he believes make people successful

Tesla boss Elon Musk is one of the richest people in the world.
In a podcast, he revealed some tips on how people can become really successful at work.
Elon Musk* has done some things right in his life: As head of the electric car manufacturer Tesla, he teaches the long-established automotive industry to fear.
With SpaceX he revolutionized space travel by relying on reusable rocket engines.
At times he is considered the richest person in the world – alternating with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
So Musk needs to know

He has now revealed a few tips about it.
On an episode of the Lex Fridman Podcast, reported by

, he was asked what advice he would give to students who want to make a difference in the world.
And in fact, most of them don't even sound that difficult.
1. Do something useful
"Do things that are useful for the people around you, for the world," Musk told Fridman.
"It's hard to be useful - very hard." But in the end, life would be worth living.
Giving more to society than you take
is also an important factor
: "Try to make a positive net contribution to society," advises the Tesla CEO.

2. Read books
Another rule of success that Musk advises for everyone is to acquire knowledge: "I would advise people to read a lot of books," he said.
"Try to absorb as much information as possible and also acquire
a good general knowledge
so that you have at least a rough overview of the large world of knowledge," says the billionaire.

3. Talk to people
Not only books are a decisive success factor for Musk. In order to find out more about the world and what people need, it is also advisable to constantly exchange ideas: “Talk to people from different walks of life, industries, professions and with different qualifications,”

"Often the people you want to be leaders are the people you don't want to be," he told Fridman.
Musk also looks for certain qualities in his own employees.
