The gup of the Court of Bari Rossana De Cristofaro indicted for perjury four women and the former driver of Gianpaolo Tarantini, accused of having lied about the nights of sex with Silvio Berlusconi, which occurred - the prosecutor of Bari has reconstructed - between the 2008 and 2009 in the residences of the then Prime Minister.
Vanessa Di Meglio, Sonia Carpentone, Roberta Nigro, Barbara Montereale and Dino Mastromarco will be tried from 7 April before the Bari mono judge Mario Mastromatteo.
The five defendants allegedly lied, the prosecution believes, called as witnesses in the escort trial.
The women, cited as witnesses at the ongoing trial in Bari, denied having prostituted themselves and then being paid for those services, according to the prosecutor, lying.
At the hearing, the defendants' defense asked for an acquittal, believing that they did not lie.
