On the amount of light the garden will rise or fall.

We wanted to find the plants that would also be suitable for an urban apartment, without a lot of natural light, or for dim basement floors.

There is a small but definitely impressive selection of plants that will suit to integrate in shady and even dark areas.

Here are some examples: Censibria, Siprici palm, Maginit, Sheflera, Photos, Black "Cox" Zemia and more.

These names are a bit like gibberish, but read them in the ears of the nursery workers and they will know exactly what you are talking about.

When it comes to a light-filled apartment, a very wide variety of additional plants join the list.

The more accurate you are in describing your space, the more the nursery will know how to match the optimal vegetation that will last for a long time.

If you are a tree lover, you should know that there are quite a few trees that are suitable for integration in the private home, and in nurseries you will find them under the category of house trees.

Some will start small and can catch speed and in a short time, especially in the summer season, give a jump, double, triple and quarter their size.

Let's start easy - each pot will be suitable for planting.

But we are in the segment of home garden design, so it is advisable to put the usual pots aside for a moment and simulate the outside as much as possible.

There are stone and concrete vessels today that are reminiscent in color and texture of the rocks that are outside.

If you choose one such tool, it may do a job in terms of design, but if you are in the business of a whole garden, you should think more in the direction of a cluster of five or six tools, two very large ones where you can plant houseplants, and several other medium pots that will incorporate additional rich vegetation.

In terms of size it is important to choose a tool that will fit the plant even as it develops.

A bird of paradise, for example, comes as a relatively small seedling and grows to very large dimensions.

Substituting a vessel later, for a larger vessel is an option, but it is worth understanding in advance the growth potential of the plant you have chosen and equipping yourself with a compatible vessel.

The colors and materials will be derived from the design style.

Because it is a garden based on pots and planters, any shape and color can be combined.

There is a heart-expanding supply in nurseries today, but if you want to simulate nature in the home living room, in this case try to stick to tools that are close in appearance, texture and hue to stone, wood and earth.

Planting substrate

The planting substrate is the heart of the garden.

It depends on the size of your space and how much you want to do things yourself, but there is a situation where you are going to fall in love with the flat planting bedding.

All that is needed for them is a wooden frame consisting of 2-3 planks with a small space between them.

These wooden frames can be found in the retail chains or simply ordered from a carpenter for a few tens of shekels.

The wood can be left in its natural hue, painted in polished white or any other shade.

If you want to involve the children in the story, you can take it in many more directions and combine more creative materials that will make the frame a celebration.

Adjust the size of the frame to the space you have allocated in your space, where you will place it.

The decorative frame is your garden space.

Now comes the most fun part - start designing the garden.

Potted plants and planters begin to be placed inside the frame.

If you are very practical, you can design the planting substrate with a base and wheels so that your garden can be moved more easily from place to place, but keep in mind that it will increase the overall cost.

You can create a tropical garden, a Japanese garden, a spice garden, a wild garden with a less formal Israeli look or a spectacular cactus garden, which in terms of care requires almost no maintenance.

You can design a flat garden, one that includes low vegetation with planters that do not exceed the tree frame in height, or a richer garden with vegetation at varying heights.

You can choose a garden that is all green, or rather a lush flower garden.

The choice of the type of plants is of course based on personal taste, but even before that, it must suit the conditions and especially the light and shade conditions in the place.

The hydroponic garden

In general, hydroponic gardening is a concept worth getting to know.

This is gardening without planting in the ground, but on the basis of rooting.

Most of us are familiar with the rooted avocado heads: we get excited when a fresh branch comes out of them and think we did our part in it.

Hydroponic gardening produces lush vegetation, and when it comes to home gardening it can amount to avocado seeds and photos.

There are today a great many dedicated rooting tools, as well as precise and very simple operating instructions, ones that any of us can implement.

With a drop of patience, sweet potatoes, avocados and some pots can produce a kind of forest rich in branches and broad leaves.

Part of the magic of hydroponic gardening is the ability to follow the miracle of creation - a bald core that looks like no future, takes out a branch, and another one, and more and more.

Vered Bonfilioli, an interior designer who specializes in rooting and has even created a series of coasters that help in the process, shares with us the important tips.

Here's how to do it right:

Rinse the stone and soak in a glass of water for two to three days.

Peel

the dark skin.

Wrap

the peeled core in a wet paper towel and place in a plastic bag.

Place the closed bag in a warm, dark place and wait.

After about two to three weeks a small root will sprout from the stone, it is time to transfer it to a vessel

.

Fill with water in each glass jar in the house, place a bottom with a hole in the middle and place the stone on it.

Place the jar with the stone in a bright place, without direct sunlight.

This!

Now it remains to wait for the beautiful growth, and just note that the water in the vessel does not run out.

The bottom with the hole is placed on the opening of the jar and inside it is placed the avocado core, bo ceramic,

Rooting can be done in almost any jar you have, or choose ready-made tools, One Two Tree,

Additional decorative elements

One of the designed, relaxing and harmonious elements that can be incorporated in the garden are the fountains.

A designed element that completes the look, and will bring mobility and flow to your garden.

A short search of fountains on Google will open up a whole world to you, but know that a fountain can also be designed on your own.

All you will need is a round vessel, preferably a shade of gray stone, pebbles and a fountain mechanism that you buy in craft stores.

The mechanism is set inside the vessel and the pebbles are arranged according to taste, filled with water, connected to electricity and enjoying a fickle murmur and a pleasing sight.

The tip that will save your garden from death

This important tip was whispered in our ear by Omri Levy from the Magic Garden Nursery, and you will not believe what you will have to do to apply it - just stop watering.

Levy explains that the number one cause of plant deaths is over-watering.

Therefore, when watering the plant, it should be done generously and it should be saturated.

Then, leave it alone until the soil becomes completely dry.

As long as it is moist even slightly, there is no need to water your plant, even if days have passed since the last watering.
