Five years after releasing his latest album, Muki releases a new single from a new album on the way, and tells how the Corona has changed everything

Five years after the release of his latest album, "Walking on Water", Muki is releasing his first single from a new album on the way.

The new song, "Ties", he wrote together with Tzlil Klipi and Maor Yitzhaki and the musical production is by Yinon Yahel.

"As a person who has been writing all the materials for himself for quite a few years, when the Corona started I felt for the first time in my life that I did not want to write," says Muki (46). "For years I would sit every night and write. And suddenly the corona starts, and three or four months go by and I don't even open a notebook. After a few months I suddenly started tickling my fingertips, I wanted to get back to it. I started having ideas, thoughts, sentences and rhymes. In me and I was looking for people to do it with them.I wanted to collaborate in writing.I realized that this creative ping pong lights the fire and keeps it burning.

"I connected with all kinds of people I did not know (among the people with whom he collaborated on the creation of the new album: Johnny Goldstein, Louis Lahav, Gilad Shmueli, Jordi, Matan Dror, Yinon Yahel, Shekel and Itai Tzuk - MK), I sat with them In the room and we wrote together.

One throws a sentence, and the other completes, and a thought arises, and talk about it.

This is a new experience for me and was really special and super fun.

Almost every song on the new album was written with other writers and almost every song has a different music producer.

Each song is a world in itself, and together there is an album that is a big, comprehensive and broad picture.

And that's what I like. "

Are you still stuck with the concept of an album?

Even though it's becoming something that is hardly done anymore?

"Yes, I love albums. For me, an album sums up a period in life. It packs it with depths, layers and thoughts. It's a wide 360-degree image, not something limited."

What did you experience during the corona is reflected in the album?

"I'm sure yes, but I can not say 'because of the corona I wrote this and that'. I do not work like this. Ever since I wrote it has never been about a specific experience. It's more a worldview, a mood, something that goes with me and I unpack it in a song "I guess the writing was influenced by the corona but I can not analyze exactly how."

How do you deal with the fifth wave?

"There are a lot of shows that are canceled. People call the day before and ask to cancel the tickets. There are shows that go round and everything as usual and there are shows that are deleted from moment to moment. It is challenging and very difficult, and it sucks very much. The good of the word, for rethinking and understanding how to do it.

"The ordinary world we know where you go to a show, perform, come home - no longer exists. Suddenly everything changes. The economic and artistic structure changes completely. We are in the process of dismantling and rebuilding, and do not know where it is going. The prophecy was given to fools, "The downside to the advantage. How? I still do not know."
