Two Los Angeles cops decided they would rather catch a Relaxo on "Pokémon Go" than help their coworkers with a robbery.

Any seasoned Pokémon Go* player knows that Snorlax is one of the most difficult monsters to catch in the game.

Two Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers were certainly aware of this when they spotted one on their phones — and actively chose to ignore a colleague's call for help in order to catch the Pokémon.

But this behavior had consequences for the two Pokémon enthusiasts.

According to court filings (via

), the two LAPD cops were caught because the camera on the squad car's dashboard caught them

playing "Pokémon Go

. "

Footage showed the pair even twice ignoring requests to respond to an ongoing mugging. "I don't want to help him," can be heard on the recording. The police officer was referring to a police captain who called for backup during a burglary at a shopping center nearby. Later he also said, "Oh fuck it," determined not to respond to the radio message. According to the report, officers then drove around for the next 20 minutes and

tried to catch Relaxo as well as the also very rare Pokémon Togetic
