The corona commissioner noted that after an inspection with the hospitals in the country, it was found that the corona was the one that brought the patients to the critical condition. • On shortening the isolation, he said:

Corona Superintendent Prof. Zarqa said today (Monday) in a press briefing that 78% of patients in critical and critical condition and respirators, are hospitalized "because of Corona" and not "with Corona".

Prof. Zarqa clarified: "We did an in-depth examination with all the hospitals in the country - the corona brought the patients to the critical situation."

Zarqa made the remarks after Prof. Idit Matot of Ichilov Hospital claimed that most corona patients were not hospitalized because of the virus.

Prof. Zarqa added: "According to our findings, most of the infection is in the first three days, with 85% of infections occurring by the fifth day. This is an issue that we are required to address as part of risk management in the situation we are in."

"It's true that there are 15-20% who can catch up after the fifth day. I say clearly to the public that we are in risk management and we did not just ask for two consecutive tests on days 4 and 5, and as long as there are symptoms we should continue isolating."

"Morbidity data show an increase and we have not yet reached a peak," the corona commissioner said of the high number of cases.

"There is an increase in the number of patients who need treatment, both in the health funds and in the hospitals."

Zarqa noted that patients in the severely dislocated Omicron strain are in better condition than patients in the Delta strain who are hospitalized in a critical condition.

"The morbidity is milder than the Delta and yet some people need life-saving treatment and some artificial respiration."

To the question "Israel Today" - does he support the position of the Association of Public Health Physicians to stop examining and isolating people who are not at risk - Prof. Zarqa said: "I cherish the Association of Public Health and the experts in the association. "The taxi, it is a message that means letting the epidemic spread and not letting a person understand what his condition is for taking care of himself and others. We are committed to supporting the message that people are responsible for themselves and others. Whoever does this test helps him not spread the disease."
