Two paths are possible in view of the Quirinale according to the dem Goffredo Bettini in an interview with the 'Corriere della Sera'. In the first, politics has a shot and proposes a one-year pact to Mario Draghi, identifying a tall figure for the Colle to guide the transition from the emergency exit to the reconstruction of a more balanced political system. Matteo Salvini should especially collaborate in this operation. But if this fails, the second 'is obligatory': Sergio Mattarella is asked to accept another mandate or the availability that Draghi has hinted is verified.
Even the secretary of Italia Viva Matteo Renzi, in another interview with 'Corriere della Sera', has his say on the Quirinale.
"I speak to everyone - he explains - we will see if the center-right will formally advance a candidacy. At the summit on Friday it emerged that Berlusconi's quirinal dream does not have the numbers".
In his opinion, "Draghi at Palazzo Chigi is a guarantee for the country in the year of the legislature that remains", while at the Quirinale "he guarantees Italy, for seven years. They are both good solutions", but "if it goes to the Quirinale there must be a contextual political agreement on the government ".
A government of leaders if Draghi goes to Colle?
"It's not likely but it makes sense," he says.
