A major winter storm brought heavy snow and ice to parts of the United States and Canada, forcing more than 80 million people on weather alert.
The BBC writes it online, specifying that more than 145 thousand people are without electricity in some south-eastern states, while thousands of flights are canceled.
Virginia, Georgia and North and South Carolina have all declared a state of emergency.
The US National Meteorological Service (NWS) said that in some areas more than 30 cm of snow is expected and road traffic problems are not ruled out, but also power outages and damage to trees.
