A strong storm and freezing temperatures caused traffic chaos and widespread power outages in southern Sweden on Monday night.
Around 15,000 households were without electricity in the morning, according to the Swedish news agency TT, citing the suppliers.
A few hours earlier, around 25,000 electricity customers were temporarily cut off from the grid.
The Götaland part of the country was particularly affected.
Many train connections in the southern regions were canceled as a precaution - because trees could fall on the tracks, it was said.
Fallen trees also blocked a number of roads at night and in the early morning, as reported by the Swedish broadcaster SVT.
Some bridges were also closed.
Until 8 a.m. local time, the Swedish police advised citizens to stay at home if possible.
Even after that, you should be careful.
According to current media reports, however, there have not been any major accidents so far.
