(ANSA) - STRASBOURG, 18 JAN - The first vote has begun for the new president of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
The rotation, due to the resurgence of Covid infections, takes place in hybrid, partly in the classroom and partly remotely.
The candidates are: Roberta Metsola of the EPP, Alice Bah Kuhnke of the Greens and SiraRigo of Gue.
In the first ballot - and in the next two - to be elected you need to obtain 50% of the valid votes plus one.
Therefore, neither the white ballots nor the votes considered invalid are counted in the count.
The results of the first voting will be communicated at 11 am (ANSA).
