Presenter Michelle Hunziker has separated from her husband after seven years of marriage.
The couple announced this on Tuesday.
After ten years together, they wanted to "change their life project," the statement said, quoted by the Italian news agency Ansa.
"Our separation will remain a common and private matter."
The Swiss Hunziker married the Italian fashion entrepreneur Tomaso Trussardi in autumn 2014 in the northern Italian city of Bergamo.
The couple have two daughters together, nine-year-old Sole and seven-year-old Celeste.
They want to take care of the two girls together »with love«.
The couple said there would be no further explanations out of consideration for the family.
For Hunziker, who is known in Germany from her appearances on "Wetten, dass ..?", it was the second marriage after that with singer Eros Ramazzotti.
She was in a relationship with him from 1998 to 2009.
From this marriage comes another daughter, 25-year-old Aurora.
