A man has been charged in the Munich district court with allegedly exploiting the uncertain residence status of two women to force them to have sex.

The accused is said to have told the Nepalese women that the German authorities required proof of sexual intercourse.

In this way they were supposed to prove that they were not living in a »sham marriage« with their respective partners.

He would take on this task to help them.

Met at Jehovah's Witnesses

According to the investigation, the women met the accused at an event organized by Jehovah's Witnesses in Munich.

They therefore spoke no German and believed the man with whom they could communicate in Nepali.

He is from Bhutan.

The alleged victims had problems with their residence status and feared being expelled from Germany, according to the investigation.

The accused is said to have pretended to have special contacts with the health department.

He told the women that sexual intercourse had to be proven by means of certain tests.

He can help them with that.

The 58-year-old is said to have sent the women fake letters from the authorities and faked calls to the authorities.

He is said to have provided the women's apartment door with an alleged authority sticker.

Cotton swabs and forms with graphics

The crime is said to have happened in 2018.

At the meetings with the women, the man is said to have shown documents with graphics.

He is said to have raped the women several times and ignored their resistance.

After intercourse, he is said to have swabbed his mouth and vagina with cotton swabs – allegedly as evidence for the authorities.

On the first day of the trial, the accused denied the allegations.

He had a "relationship in the form of an affair" with the two women, according to a written statement read by his defense attorney.

He "completely" denied violent attacks and the allegations of the prosecution.

He couldn't explain how the women came to their allegations.

His family helped the two women.

The contact between the two and his wife and son was good.
