About a hundred actors and actresses gathered in Habima Square to protest government policy • Demand: Financial compensation to the people of the cultural world due to the wave of cancellations

Under the title "Enough to play for a living", a demonstration of actors and actresses took place today (Tuesday) at the Habima Theater in Tel Aviv.

The demonstration was initiated by the players' organization Shaham due to what it calls "the government's inability to deal with the wave of cancellations and the loss of revenue in the world of culture due to the spread of the omicron."

About a hundred artists and people from the world of culture came to the demonstration, including Sandra Sadeh, Shani Klein, Roni Merhavi, Hani Nachmias, Yehuda Nahari, Dikla Hadar, Daniel Moreshet, Asi Levy, Yael Leventhal, Ohad Shachar, Ami Smolarchik, Nati Kluger and more.

"Lieberman Lieberman will wake up, actors are more equal" and "Government is disgraceful, there is no life without theater" were just some of the shouts that the demonstrators made while waving the Shaham flags.

Shaham chairman, actress Ricky Bleich, said in her speech: "Today we are here in an extraordinary way not to amuse and not to be funny, not to excite and not to tell a story. Today we are here for ourselves. No more entertaining. Not funny. We We remove the make-up and the stitched smile and shout. We have nothing more to live on. We have no reserves. In this country our profession has no possibility of accumulating savings. What we earn goes to ours and our families' mouths. And we have been living in closure for two years. "Some will tell us that life is back on track and everything is routine and normal - that's just not true. The shows are canceled all the time."
