You've seen Yael Elkana in series like "The Cook" and "Being With Her" • Now you can also see her in the theater, in the musical "Crossing the Wall" that goes up in Beit Lessin

Yes's' The Cook's series and the third season of 'Be With Her' Rainbow 12 made actress Yael Elkana a familiar face.

Now she's coming to a new pitch: the Repertory Theater.

This will happen in the musical "Crossing the Wall", an adaptation of Rama Burstein's film, which will be released tomorrow at the Beit Lessin Theater named after Baruch Ivcher.

The team that created the theater adaptation of "Zero in Human Relations" is responsible for the new musical: Oren Yaakobi, who wrote the play, Ili Butner, who wrote the music, and Ido Rosenberg, who is directing.

Starring Chen Amsalem, Oz Zahavi, Evelyn the Redeemer and more.

The play tells the story of Michal (Amsalem), whose fiancée abruptly cancels their wedding shortly before the date.

But the bride refuses to cancel the wedding out of complete belief that she will find a new groom by the time of the ceremony.

On the way she embarks on a journey that includes dating, a trip to the tomb of Rabbi Nachman of Breslav Bauman, a reunion with the love of youth, and also with a secular (golden) singer who falls in love with her.

Elkana (29) plays Michal's best friend.

"This is my first role in the theater for which I am rehearsing," she says.

This is also my first role in the musical. "

We did not know you could sing.

"Not much is known about me, but I'm into music long before the game. I was a singer girl. I participated in youth bands, in the Scouts' band, in 'Chich's Neighbors,' I sang in all the ceremonies. I even tried to get accepted into a military band but I was not accepted. I come from a musical family. My father, Amos Elkana, is a composer of classical music. My mother was a flutist in opera. The music came to me from home, and the acting came in only at a later stage.

"After the army I enrolled in the musicals track at Idan Lipper's school, which was my director in 'Neighbors of Chich.' "Go learn a game." So I went to Yoram Levinstein's studio and there I fell in love with the game. "

How did you manage?

"Chen and I went into isolation that day. I was already out of isolation the day before yesterday and I feel great. I went through it easily, but it was very challenging in terms of the show. Director Ido Rosenberg said he has never encountered such a thing yet, but we all understand the unexpected at the time. "That. He brought in other actors to mark our roles. We zoomed in once, and three days before the show came up - we came back. Since we've been dealing with this chaos for two years, we're somehow getting along."

Is there a concern that the show will not be able to run in the near future because of the morbidity that is at its peak?

"It's all the time like a cloud overhead, but we try not to address it. If there are restrictions - we will deal with them. We are currently working as usual, only with masks. We are asked to be guarded, not to walk around in public places and to wear masks. "I think that's the right thing to do. It's hard to get involved in art when you're in fear."

Are there any TV projects on the agenda?

"I'm playing a docu-reality about Linor Abergil, which will soon go up in Arc 12, and there's also the 'Big On Us' series with a trio of what's related, aimed at young audiences."
