The high pressure has the hours counted: by the weekend we will see the awakening of winter, the cold will return from Russia with rain and snow down to low altitudes. The team of the iLMeteo.it website announces that already today there will be a first weak failure of the vast anticyclonic structure that has accompanied us in the last few days and that will allow more and more space to infiltrate humid air. The fog returns to the northern plains, while low clouds will affect most of the central-northern coastal areas, in particular the Tyrrhenian ones. A more radical change will take place tomorrow, when a further subsidence of the high pressure will favor a conspicuous influx of humid oceanic winds laden with clouds, capable of bringing back some rain on many regions of the Center, then also reaching the lower Tyrrhenian Sea and,by evening, the lower Adriatic. The snow returns to the reliefs of the Center-South, initially at altitudes close to 1200 meters, but decreasing by the end of the day due to cold winds that will begin to blow from the north-eastern quadrants.
In the North, the weather will remain drier, although in the lowland areas, fog and low clouds will prevail. By the weekend, the northward movement of the anticyclone will favor the influx of icy currents from Russia to Italy, with an accompanying thermal drop over a large part of the country.
