A new year, a new government - and lots of new regulations.

What will become more expensive, what will become cheaper and what will change completely?

The year 2022 will see many changes for citizens.

Some innovations are also noticeable in the wallet.

Here is a snippet:

Corona bonus of up to 1,500 euros until the end of March

Yet

until March 31,

workers can have a 

corona bonus of a maximum of 1,500 euros *

received from their employer – tax-free.

One of the requirements is that the money is used to mitigate the additional burden caused by the Corona crisis and is paid in addition to wages.

Increase in child allowance

The

child

supplement, a benefit in addition to child benefit for low-income families, will be increased slightly.

It increases by 4 euros from 205 euros to up to 209 euros per month per child.

The minimum wage is to be increased to 12 euros per hour

The statutory minimum wage is currently €9.60 per hour.

In the new year it will rise twice: in January 2022 it is to be raised to 9.82 euros and on July 1, 2022 to 10.45 euros.

SPD, Greens and FDP want to increase the

minimum wage to 12 euros per hour

After the one-off adjustment, the independent minimum wage commission should decide on any further increases, as stated in the coalition agreement.
