Corona premiums are only tax-free until March 2022.
Do employees who have so far received nothing still have a chance of a bonus?
In order to alleviate the financial burden of the corona pandemic, the federal government has made it possible to pay a tax-free corona premium.
Employees may be paid a total of 1,500 euros without deductions* for the entire period since March 2020. Many employers have also let their employees benefit from this, such as the 1.1 million employees in the federal states who have received 1,300 euros as a corona bonus by March at the latest should receive.
But what if the windfall hasn't materialized so far?
Corona bonus only tax-free until March 2022
According to a report by the German Press Agency (dpa), anyone who does not receive a corona bonus by the end of March 2022 can
no longer hope
for the tax and duty-free special payment for the time being.
Because the federal government had only made this possible temporarily.

Nursing staff, Postbank and Deutsche Bank still have opportunities
In some sectors where the corona premiums are still being fought for, the chances of this are relatively good.
The Verdi union is still trying
to enforce the special payment at
Postbank
and
Deutsche Bank "before the time window for this closes," according to a dpa report.
And
the promised nursing bonus, which the SPD, Greens and FDP want to make possible, is also waiting for
nursing staff .
So far, there has been talk of a tax-free Corona bonus of up to 3,000 euros.
It is still unclear whether all nurses will really benefit from this, Health Minister Karl Lauterbach wanted to limit the number of recipients, as he recently announced.
