Abuse in the Archdiocese of Munich: Chancellery reports of hundreds of victims

A comprehensive report on abuse has made Pope Benedict serious allegations. In four cases, the former Archbishop of Munich took little or no action against the accused clergy.

In the abuse scandal in the Catholic Church, the report of a Munich law firm Pope Benedict XVI.

The former pontiff, who worked as Archbishop of Munich-Freising in the 1970s and 1980s, was accused of misconduct in four cases, said Martin Pusch from the Westpfahl Spilker Wastl (WSW) law firm, which carried out the report on behalf of the diocese.

Two cases are about perpetrators who were allowed to remain active in pastoral care without restrictions on their activities.

Benedict XVI

rejected the accusations according to Pusch.
