Twitter tries to limit false information on Covid-19: comes the 'Misleading' label that distinguishes, the company explains, "content that is unquestionably false or deceptive and can pose a significant risk of damage such as increased exposure to the virus or negative effects on public health systems ".
This description includes all the misleading posts regarding the nature of the virus that causes Covid; the efficacy or safety of preventive measures, therapies or other precautions aimed at mitigating or treating the disease; official regulations, restrictions or exemptions related to health warnings; o the spread of the virus or the risk of infection or death associated with Covid. Depending on the circumstances, the platform may also add a link to the label with an explanation referring to institutions and scientific explanations.
If a tweet is identified as misleading, it will be accompanied by the warning message, its visibility will be reduced, 'likes' and 'retweets' will be disabled in order not to make it viral.
In the event of a repeat of the behavior by a profile and the accumulation of multiple alerts by Twitter, more or less prolonged suspensions of the account will be triggered.
