Jean Castex shakes up the vaccination schedule.
The Prime Minister announced this Thursday evening the opening of the vaccination booster for all adolescents aged 12 to 17 from Monday January 24.
This booster dose will not be mandatory to keep the health pass.
"We are going to extend this possibility for everyone without obligation," said Jean Castex during his press conference.
80% of this age group, ie 4.1 million young people aged 12 to 17, have already received two doses.
The booster dose is feasible three months after the second injection.
The High Authority for Health (HAS) had recommended last week to “administer a booster dose in adolescents living in the entourage of immunocompromised people or vulnerable people who would not be vaccinated”.
Until now, recalls were only possible in this age group for adolescents at risk of serious forms of the disease.
