(ANSA) - CATANZARO, 20 JAN - An earthquake of 4.3 magnitude was recorded this morning in Calabria.
The quake was felt, in particular, in the delvibonese area, where the epicenter would have been located.
The depth of the earthquake, according to the National Institute of Geophysics, was ten kilometers.
However, the quake affected a large area of Calabria.
It was also distinctly felt in Lamezia Terme and Catanzaro and along the Tyrrhenian coast of Cosenza.
Many schools and offices were evacuated. In most of the municipalities where the earthquake was felt, the pupils of the elementary schools were brought out of the institutes and gathered in adjacent open spaces. The evacuation operations were carried out, however, in an orderly fashion and no injuries were recorded. Many people who were in the house came out in a strong alarm. The police have initiated investigations to detect any damage, which at the moment, however, is not reported.
Rail traffic along the Tyrrhenian coast of Calabria was also suspended. The suspension concerns the trains running the service along the Paola-Rosarno line, in Tropea and between Lamezia Terme and Catanzaro Lido. The technicians of Reteferroviaria Italiana are carrying out the reconnaissance on the edge of railway carriages along the lines concerned to check the conditions of the tracks. Replacement buses have been set up for passengers on the lines affected by the suspension.
The bunker classroom in Lamezia Terme where the "Scott Rebirth" process is being celebrated at the Delvibonese 'Ndrangheta clans has been cleared away. Magistrates, lawyers and technical staff left the courtroom and the hearing was suspended. After the absence of harm has been verified, the hearing is resumed.(HANDLE).
