(ANSA) - MONROVIA, 20 JAN - At least 29 people, including some children, died last night in the capital of Liberia, Monrovia, when a crowd of people gathered during a Christian religious gathering, according to reports from the police.
"We fear 29 people have died," police spokesman Moses Carter told an AFP correspondent.
Among them there are also some children who took part in the gathering and it is likely that the final balance is even worse.
"The number of victims could increase because other people are in critical condition," he said.
At the moment the triggering cause of the unrest is still unclear and the information fragmented.
