Feeling exhausted, dissatisfied with your current job or a better offer from another place - there are quite a few reasons why employees decide to resign from their job, so whether you are dissatisfied or given a chance to move forward, you should know how to do it respectfully and correctly.

Michael Weizmann, VP of Talent Solutions of the ManpowerGroup Group

, explains.

Michael, how do you get fired from your job correctly?

"You should do it in a transparent and mature way and not surprise the employer," says Weizmann. To leave, it's hard to go back. It should be noted that most people who resign today do so after they have been given a better opportunity and they want to refresh, but yes it is important to flood the difficulty to the manager and let him prepare for the new situation long enough in advance so he can find a suitable replacement. Additionally,It's not advisable to let other employees know about your plans for a new job search before the official announcement. "

If I suffer in the workplace but have not yet found a new place - should I resign?

"If you are talented enough and trust your abilities, the answer is yes," Weizmann explains.

"Happiness and satisfaction are more important than earning a living. Indeed, it is important to schedule the resignation call correctly, and do it at the right time for both you and the employer, for example during calmer months at work, to give management enough time to prepare for your departure and find the right replacement."

What is the first step you take when you want to quit your job?

Weizmann notes: "First of all, update the direct manager, to give him a chance to preserve and if not then at least prepare properly. The conversation should start with flooding your problems and reasons for leaving. This way there is a good chance the manager will understand "For example. A very important rule is that doors must not be closed - certainly not in workplaces."

What rights do I deserve if I decide to resign?

"Most workers today are signed to Article 14, so their severance pay is guaranteed," Weizmann adds. "In addition, they are obliged to receive days' notice and in order to sign unemployment they will have to wait 90 days. These are the main rights that come to employees who have decided to leave their workplace."

How long in advance should I announce my resignation?

"It very much depends on the employee level and the period of advance notice to which he has committed in the contract, usually a notice period of 30 days. For senior employees the notice period should be longer, at least three months. "For some credit points for that. It is also advisable to make it clear to the employer during the resignation call that you do not intend to leave before you have completed all your tasks and before you overlap your replacement properly. You will also be greatly appreciated for this."

Are there any documents I need to prepare in advance if I decide to resign?

"No, we need to prepare a letter of resignation describing the circumstances," Weizmann concludes.

"There are formats ready for this. It should be mentioned in the letter that you want to receive forms 161 and 161A in order to arrange the release of funds. It is very important to get the employment certificate - which indicates the period you worked for the employer. ".
