The singer of the band Tocotronic, Dirk von Lowtzow, describes himself as "very alcohol-prone".
He had drunk a lot in the past and therefore had to be a little careful, he said in the "Zeit" magazine podcast "And what do you do at the weekend?".
However, he has not completely given up alcohol: »I don't drink at all at home, sometimes at parties, a few times a year.
Otherwise I have to forbid myself to do that, because otherwise I would end up in very dangerous situations for myself and others.«
The musician of the band based in Hamburg and Berlin said about alcohol consumption in the music industry: "I'm 50. Drinking goes well up to a certain point in time and then it doesn't anymore.
And it works well up to certain drinks and then no more.
As a musician you are very prone to it.«
Von Lowtzow was one of the founders of Tocotronic in Hamburg in 1993.
The band had their breakthrough with their first album »Digital ist better«, eleven more followed.
The musicians will release their new album »Nie wieder Krieg« next week (January 28).
