(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, JAN 20 - "We hope that the attack on Ukraine will not take place, but if it does, we are ready".
This was said by the president of the European Commission Ursula von derLeyen speaking at the Wef in Davos.
"Autocracies fear the success of democracies and we must protect our model, our freedoms. We do not accept a return to the spheres of influence in Europe and we support Ukraine's right to its sovereignty."
If Moscow attacks Europe, it will impose massive "economic-financial" sanctions.
"We are the first commercial partner for Russia and the first investor: our ties with Russia are important but they are more important for them".
