Three years after the biggest hit of his career, director Bong Joon-ho is set to make a comeback soon, as
Deadline reports

After the bloody social satire
Parasite
, the 52-year-old filmmaker should tackle science fiction, for an adaptation of
Edward Ashton 's novel
Mickey7 .
The director is in discussions with Warner Bros to finalize the project.

If the book doesn't mean anything to you, that's normal, it hasn't been released yet.
It is due to be released on February 15 in the United States.
The story tells that of Mickey7, an Expendable who is sent to colonize distant planets.
Each time he dies, his memories are implanted into a new body and his mission resumes.
After dying six times, Mickey7 begins to understand the real purpose of his mission... During a routine exploration mission, he disappears and is presumed dead.
When he returns to the colony base, there is a new clone, Mickey8.
Robert Pattinson headlining?
We still know little about the film, but
Deadline
mentions the name of Robert Pattinson to play the main role of the film.
The American magazine reports that Bong Joon-ho received a version of Edward Ashton's book, and was immediately thrilled.
The Korean was spoiled for choice for his main actor, as his rating has skyrocketed in Hollywood since
Parasite
.
He would have chosen Robert Pattinson after a meeting between the two men at the end of 2021.

Bong Joon-ho has been hyperactive since the phenomenal success of
Parasite
, which won him a palme d'or at Cannes in 2019, and the Oscar for best film in 2020. In addition to this science fiction feature film, he is working on an animated film, centered on the relationship between humans and underwater creatures.
To complete his agenda, he is developing a mini-series based on the universe of
Parasite
.
The series is developed by Warner Bros, and Bong Joon-ho is working on this project with Adam Mc Kay, director of
The Big Short
and
Don't Look Up
, and ex-producer of the
Succession
series .
No release date has yet been announced, either for the films or the mini-series.
