Child overwhelmed by the Carnival float, mother and 2 people on trial

This is the outcome of the preliminary hearing, before the Gup of the Court of Bologna, Claudio Paris , for the death of Gianlorenzo Manchisi , the two and a half year old child who fell and was run over by a Carnival float

, for the death of

Gianlorenzo Manchisi

, the

two and a half year old

child who fell and was run over by a Carnival float during a parade on March 5th. 2019 in Bologna, in via Indipendenza: the child died the next day in hospital.

The indictment, as requested by the Prosecutor's Office, concerns

the child's mother, who had climbed on the wagon with him and the engineer

who had issued the test certificate. In this case the trial will start on May 5th. While

the owner and body builder of the wagon

will be prosecuted : in this case the hearing is set for April 29th. All three defendants (assisted by lawyers Mauro Nicastro, Stefano Sermenghi and Massimo Leone) are accused of manslaughter.

On the matter there is still another file pending, born from a complaint of the child's family, in which it was asked to investigate the responsibilities of the

Committee of Petronian events

, which organized the event, and to investigate any possible ones of the Municipality.

Twice the prosecutors asked to file the file and twice the family members objected.

It will be discussed again on February 22nd.
