GTA 6 Release: Experts are struggling to release date

GTA 6 release continues to be a point of contention.

Now even experts are bickering about the release date of the Rockstar Games cracker.

Everyone can agree on one thing.

New York – Fans have been looking forward to the release of GTA 6* for years.

In the meantime, Grand Theft Auto V, the current title from Rockstar Games*, is almost eight years old.

There could well be a sequel to the popular GTA* series in the near future.

But fans will probably have to be patient.

Insiders are currently discussing how long exactly on Twitter.

What's the matter?

Recently, a trusted GTA insider stated that the release announcement for GTA 6 should come as early as 2022* - so this year.

After fans have been waiting for the announcement of the next Grand Theft Auto title for years, the joy about this prediction was great.

In addition, the insider spoke out for a release in 2023.

So fans could finally get their hands on GTA 6 next year.

At least that is the opinion of Tez2, who is well known in the GTA community.

But Tom Henderson, also a well-known leaker and insider, sees things a little differently.

However, Henderson is better known for inside information on Battlefield 2042 and Call of Duty than on Grand Theft Auto.

Nevertheless, he has already made a name for himself in the scene and fans trust him because he has already made correct statements about CoD and BF.

GTA 6: Release not before 2024 – Tom Henderson contradicts Insider Tez2

Why does Tom Henderson disagree?

On Twitter, a user asked Tom Henderson what he thought of Tez2's statement regarding the release of GTA 6.

Henderson already said last year that GTA 6 could probably have its release* in 2023.

However, he changed his mind shortly thereafter and considers 2024 or even 2025 to be a more realistic release date.

Henderson was also supported by Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier, who has many sources in the gaming industry.

Also when asked what Henderson thought of Tez2's statement, he continues to advocate a GTA 6 release in 2024:

I do not know.

[The 2022 release announcement] [...] makes sense if the game releases in 2024.

But I think they [Rockstar Games, ed.

Red.] are aware of the fact that their reputation is a bit tarnished at the moment, so I hope they fix that before then (repair GTA trilogy, add new content to Red Dead Online, etc.)

So Tom Henderson believes that a GTA 6 release announcement for 2022 is quite realistic if the New York developer plans to release the game in 2024.

So far, Rockstar Games has always announced their games two years before the release date.

If the developer from New York sticks to this scheme, Henderson's forecast is therefore more likely.

Who is Tez2?

Tez2 is a Rockstar Games insider who mostly comments on GTA and Red Dead Redemption.

He has been tweeting information and news about the Rockstar titles regularly since 2015 and was spot on with some leaks.

He recently commented on the release of GTA 6, Bully 2 and new features in the next Grand Theft Auto title in a GTAForum.
