Hollywood wants to bring the storming of the Capitol in Washington on January 6, 2021 as a feature film.
US director and screenwriter Billy Ray announced the project with the working title »J6« on Thursday.
He linked a report from Deadline.com on Twitter.
He wanted to describe the events from the "trenches", he told the film portal.
Ray traveled to Washington shortly after the attack and spoke to those affected, such as police officer Michael Fanone, who had been brutally attacked by Trump supporters.
"Deadline" also reported that the script for "J6" will soon be sold to studios and streamers and that talks with investors are already underway.

The producer is US director Adam McKay, who recently brought out the political and catastrophe satire »Don't Look Up« and can currently hope for an Oscar for it.
With »Vice – The Second Man«, he previously shot a real-life satire about the hard-line politician Dick Cheney.
According to Deadline, McKay wrote a "harrowing and terrifying" screenplay to document that "agonizing day" in the movies.
Attack on the heart of US democracy
Supporters of the ousted US President Donald Trump stormed the seat of the US Congress on January 6 last year to prevent the confirmation of the election victory of the Democrat Joe Biden.
Five people died and dozens were injured.
The attack on the heart of US democracy shook the country.
To this day, Trump has not admitted his election defeat.
Billy Ray became known for his screenplays for films such as »The Hunger Games«, »Captain Phillips« and »Richard Jewell«.
In 2020, he directed the political miniseries The Comey Rule, based on former FBI Director James Comey's book Bigger Than Office.
