The toll from the ongoing ISIS attack against the Ghweiran prison in northeastern Syria is at least 25 dead.
This was reported by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights specifying that inside the prison there are violent clashes between Isis militiamen, including many freed prisoners and Kurdish security forces.
The jihadists "have taken complete control" and the security and anti-terrorist forces are fighting, suffering "numerous victims", the Observatory writes.
This is the most serious Isis attack of the last three years.
