The first trailer for Amazon's "Lord of the Rings" series has been eagerly awaited.

And was able to convince the fans.

But how did the scenes come about?

The first official trailer for the "Lord of the Rings" series* has been available on Amazon Prime Video since January 19, 2022.

Many viewers thought it was a computer generated trailer.

But shortly after the publication, another video appeared: A making-of shows how laboriously the makers produced the teaser trailer.

Accordingly, no computer effects were used, but real props.

This allowed the images to be displayed as realistically as possible.

Here we tell you how the makers went about it.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Trailer: This is how it really came to be

"When we were shooting this title, I wanted a gush of water to show through, which I thought was a really nice idea," special effects consultant Douglas Trumbull told

ign.com

magazine . “The question was whether it should be water or something else to create the 'rippling' effect. This is

very difficult to do with computer graphics

because it falls within the realm of fluid dynamics, which is very difficult to calculate,” he continues.

“They are some of the most demanding elements of computer graphics, and you can wait days for some images to render.

On the other hand, if you're on set and interacting with

really hot molten metals and super cold water

, you'll almost certainly get a surprising visual effect that looks really great on camera, especially when shot at 5000 frames per second ' the special effects consultant continues.

Director Klaus Obermeyer also says: "

We wanted to capture something that is not visible to the human eye

." He also explains: "The molten metal and its properties become particularly fascinating when you shoot the ultra slow motion that makes it possible to see the billowing, cooling, undulations and energy of the molten metal in a way one could never experience with normal human perception.”

And the result is impressive, after all, most fans got goosebumps when they saw the trailer.
