A 28-year-old woman, positive for Covid and not vaccinated, died at the Policlinico Umberto I in Rome after it was possible to give birth during her hospitalization when it was understood that her conditions were now desperate.
The baby, born premature, is now extubated and stable.
During the hospitalization, every effort was made to save the young woman's life, including intensive care in Ecmo.
The Covid Crisis Unit of the Lazio Region recalls "the absolute importance of vaccinating oneself even during pregnancy and expresses the most heartfelt condolences to the young woman's family".
